Why Use a UTM Builder Tool?

What Does a UTM Link Look Like?

A URL comprises several distinct parts, each of which must be correctly assembled to create a fully functional URL. Here’s a breakdown of these components:

Protocol or Scheme:

This specifies how the connection to the website should be established. While http and https are the most commonly used protocols, others like ftp, sftp, and mailto can also be utilized. The separator following the protocol, such as ://, may vary depending on the protocol type.

Host:

The host represents the website’s address, including the domain and subdomain. For instance, www.example.com is a typical example of a host.

Path:

The path indicates the specific location or page on the website that you are accessing. For example, /best-shoes would direct you to a page about shoes.

Query String:

The query string is the portion of the URL that comes after the? but before the #. It is optional and used to pass additional information to the website. An example would be
utm_campaign=sale&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.

Fragment:

The fragment is the URL part that starts with # and is always placed at the end. The browsers use it to navigate a specific webpage section after loading it.

Query Parameters:

The query string can contain one or more query parameters. Each parameter consists of a name and a value, separated by an = sign. If multiple parameters are present, they are divided by an & symbol. For example, utm_campaign=sale and utm_medium=social include two distinct query parameters.

By understanding and correctly assembling these components, you can create functional and optimized URLs for your needs.
